✺ Meet Golden Hour ✺
Before you sprinkle, get to know the flowers in Golden Hour:
Chrysanthemum
Chrysanthemums (Chrysanthemum morifolium), often affectionally referred to as “mums”, are daisy-like flowers commonly used therapeutically in ways very similar to chamomile. They have a long history of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, & western herbalism in supporting healthy digestion.
Helichrysum
Helichrysums (Helichrysum arenarium), often called “everlastings,” are bright yellow, aromatic, slightly bitter, & the tiniest bit spicy. They’re used therapeutically to support healthy digestion, skin health, immune health, & our pathways of natural detoxification. Their name appropriately translates to “sun gold” & they bring bright beauty wherever they’re sprinkled.
Calendula
Calendula (Calendula officinalis) is another bright & sunny edible flower most well-known for it’s soothing benefits to the skin. However, it’s also antioxidant-rich, very supportive of immune & digestive health.
Marigold
Marigolds (Tagetes spp.) are a favorite garden ornamental that range in color from yellow to orange to red & in taste from floral & ever-so-slightly pungent to downright unpleasant! Don’t worry; we only included the tasty ones here. Medicinally, they’re much more commonly used in Ayurveda than in western herbalism. However, marigolds are often used as anti-inflammatories & to support respiratory, digestive, & skin health.
